From the notorious shutdown of several Iranian nuclear centrifuges by Stuxnet malware in 20102 to the Shamoon malware attacks in November 2016 and January 2017 against Gulf state organizations3, these urgent reminders make it clear that today the stakes for energy and utility companies are higher than ever. The health and welfare of whole regions or even nations could potentially be at risk.
